Useful camera features
Face recognition
A feature that detects a person’s face and adjusts the focus. Many of the latest digital cameras are equipped with this feature. In addition, it is common for it to adjust not only the focus but also the brightness and color of the skin.

Selfie
This feature allows you to take a picture while viewing yourself on the rear monitor by rotating it. Depending on the camera, when you rotate the monitor to switch to selfie mode, the self-timer or skin beautification function will automatically be turned on.

Time lapse
Time lapse is a video created from still images taken continuously at regular intervals. Its characteristic is that it can express long-term changes in events such as the flow of clouds and the movement of people in a short period of time. If you have a camera with a time lapse function, you can shoot this unique video using only the camera.

RAW shooting
In addition to the common image format JPEG, some digital cameras can record in RAW format. RAW format refers to images in a “raw” state without any image processing. Since the image is saved without compression, the image size is very large, but it is more resistant to correction and processing than JPEG format, and you can use editing software to finish the brightness and color as you like.

USB charging
This function allows you to charge the battery inside the camera body using a USB cable, just like a smartphone. Depending on the camera, you can conveniently charge it using a USB output AC adapter or mobile battery.

Wi-Fi
Digital cameras equipped with Wi-Fi are characterized by their ability to link with smartphones. You can transfer photos you have taken to your smartphone and operate the camera from a smartphone app.

GPS
Digital cameras with GPS functionality include location information (latitude and longitude) for the photo data. Many waterproof models for outdoor use have this function.

Touch panel
A model equipped with a monitor that allows touch operation like a smartphone. Most use a touch panel in combination with buttons or dials, and are mainly used for touch AF and touch shutter.
